Nivaldo Ornelas is one of the greatest instrumentists in Brazilian music. In the seventies he was part of Som Imaginário, as well as Hermeto Pascoal's and Egberto Gismonti's bands. In 1982 Nivaldo released his second album, "À Tarde", in France. In the following year he took some of those tracks, added some new material and released the Brazilian album, "Viagem através de um sonho". This special CD edition includes "À Tarde" and the 1983 recordings as bonus tracks.

When Mutantes called it a day at the end of the 1970s, guitar player Sérgio Dias (then the only remaining founding member) launched his solo career, in search of new ways and musical directions. Shankar, TM Stevens, Jeremy Steig, Jaco Pastorius and many others, performing and recording at different venues and studios all over the country. Formed in 1976, Grupo Um was one of the pioneers from the brazilian jazz and jazz-rock scene.
